Due to risks associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Olympic Committee has stated that it will not send athletes to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as currently scheduled and urges a postponement until 2021.

The Board of Directors of Karate Canada supports this decision which puts the health and safety of the athletes and the wider community at the forefront.
