Announcing the National Team for the 2017 Senior Pan American Championships

Karate Canada is thrilled to announce its official lineup for the 2017 Senior Pan American Karate Championships. You may click here to view the full list of National Team members who have been selected for this event, in accordance with our published Senior National Team Criteria. In total, 27 athletes will be competing in Curacao (Dutch Caribbean) on May 25-27. This year for the first time, the Sr Pan Ams will include Para-karate divisions and Canada will be well represented with 3 athletes.

For this event, the athletes will be supported by six National Team Coaches: Mrs. Katarina Vadovicova (Kata Head Coach), Mrs. Nassim Varasteh (Sr Kumite Head Coach), Mr. Kraig Devlin (Sr Kumite), Mr. Roman Saltikov (Sr Kumite), Mrs. Heather Fidyk (Para Head Coach) and Mrs. Pam Ross (Para). The team will also be accompanied by Karate Canada’s Medical Committee Chair and certified Athletic Therapist Mr. Gus Kandilas. Karate Canada’s Executive Director, Mr. Olivier Pineau, will make the trip as well and act as Team Leader. Mr. Craig Vokey, Karate Canada’s President, will also accompany the team in Curacao. Finally, an impressive 17 international officials from Canada will also be part of the delegation, including Mr. Yaro Tarana, KC Officials Committee Chair. We sincerely congratulate our athletes for their selection, and wish our entire delegation the very best of luck in Curacao!
