Please note that Karate Canada has made a minor update to Appendix B of its 2019-2020 Junior National Team Criteria. Age-eligible athletes who earned a gold or silver medal in Karate Canada’s 2019 Senior National Championships will be automatically invited to compete in the 2020 Junior National Championships in U21 and (for kata) Junior (16-17) divisions. While it results in automatic invitations of only a couple of additional athletes, this change allows for greater consistency between the Junior and Senior National Team Criteria (as medalists in the 2019 Junior National Championships in U21 divisions were already being automatically invited to compete in the 2020 Senior National Championships).
