KC Concludes its 2018 Junior National Training Camp

July 24, 2018

Karate Canada has proudly concluded, on Sunday July 22nd, the largest edition to date of its annual Junior National Training Camp, assembling more than 125 athletes as well as 5 National Team Coaches, in both kata and kumite. This 3-day Camp ended on a high note, as Karate Canada announced the selection of most of its National Team athletes for participation in the 2018 Cadet, Junior & U21 Pan American Championships (to be held in Rio de Janeiro, in August – the full list will be posted shortly).  The Camp was co-led by National Team Head Coaches Katarina Vadovicova (Kata) and Denis Beaudoin (Junior Kumite), with the help of Assistant National Team Coaches Sorin Alexandru (Junior Kumite), Hasan Bratic (Junior Kumite) and Pam Ross (Junior Kata). Highlights of the Camp included video analysis sessions with Kumite Coaches, engaging team building activities and much more. As usual, Karate Canada salutes the unwavering commitment of all parents who support and accompany their young athletes through their journey to excellence. We also wish to sincerely thank all of the staff members and volunteers who once again made this great event possible. Finally, we wish to congratulate all participating athletes for their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to the remaining Junior National Team Roster events of the season, such as the National Kata Training Camp (Richmond BC, August 10-13; optional for all invited Youth and Junior athletes), and the aforementioned 2018 Cadet, Junior & U21 Pan American Karate Championships.
