Junior National Team Athletes Ready for 2018 Junior Pan American Championships

Members of the Canadian Junior National Team Roster members selected to compete in the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships have arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for this prestigious event. The competition will take place from August 22nd-25th, bringing together over 700 athletes from 20 different countries. Karate Canada will be represented by a total of 79 athletes. The team will be supported by Junior National Kumite Head Coach Mr. Denis Beaudoin, National Team Assistant Kata Coach Ms. Pam Ross, National Team Assistant Coach Mr. Sorin Alexandru, National Team Assistant Coach Mr. Adam Wackershauser and National Team Assistant Coach Mr. Gary Sabean, as well as medical support staff member Ms. Clare Richard, Team Manager Ms. Alexandra Roy, and Karate Canada President Mr. Craig Vokey. The Canadian delegation will also include 13 officials. Mr. Vokey, also a member of the Pan American Karate Federation Executive, wishes to thank the parents and supporters of these young athletes for all the effort that has gone into being able to represent Canada. This event constitutes the most important Junior international event for Team Canada in the 2018-19 competitive season. Good luck to all of our competitors and coaches!
