Karate Canada is Thrilled to Sanction the Upcoming 2017 Montreal International Open Karate Championships

Karate Canada is proud to endorse the 2017 edition of the Montreal International Open, which will take place on May 7th at the Vaudreuil-Dorion Multisports Centre. This will be the 14th edition of this event, held by Karate Québec on a yearly basis. Last year’s edition of the Montreal Open welcomed approximately 500 athletes from many Canadian provinces, as well as from the USA and other nations, totalling close to 1,000 registrations.

All karateka 8 years old and more with a green belt and above are welcome. A Para-karate division is also offered (for athletes with disabilities). This tournament will offer both recreational (non-Elite) divisions and Elite divisions (with prize money). Seminars led by world-renown experts and World Champions Douglas Brose (kumite, from Brazil) and Antonio Diaz (kata, from Venezuela) will also be held on the days preceding the start of competition, and National Referee Committee Chair Mr. Yaro Tarana will conduct a Regional Officials’ Clinic offered by Karate Quebec and Karate Canada.
