Given recent and ongoing developments of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, Karate Canada has decided to cancel its 2020 Senior National Championships & Olympic Event Team Trials, which were to be held in Calgary, Alberta, on March 21-22.

The health and safety of our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, spectators, and the broader community is our top priority, and we believe this decision is in the best interest of all stakeholders as the situation continues to change at a fast pace.

Karate Canada would like to sincerely thank its organising partner and host Provincial Association Karate Alberta for all of the work that has gone into preparing for this event, and for being excellent partners throughout this process. We look forward to working with this organizing committee on future events.

Karate Canada will continue to monitor the situation and to consult with its sport partners and government and health authorities, and we will share further updates as circumstances permit.
