Announcing the National Team for the 2016 Senior Pan American Championships

Karate Canada is thrilled to announce its official lineup for the 2016 Senior Pan American Karate Championships. You may click here to view the full list of National Team members who have been selected for this event, in accordance with our published Senior National Team Criteria. These 25 athletes will be competing in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on May 26-28, and will be supported by four National Team Coaches: Mrs. Katarina Vadovicova (Kata Head Coach), Mrs. Nassim Varasteh (Sr Kumite Head Coach), Mr. Kraig Devlin and Mr. Roman Saltikov. The team will also be accompanied by Karate Canada’s Medical Committee Chair and certified Athletic Therapist Mr. Gus Kandilas, as well as by Team Leader and Karate Canada President Mr. Craig Vokey, who will be Canada’s delegate at the next Pan American Karate Federation Congress. Finally, several international officials from Canada will also be part of the delegation, including Mrs. Yoshie Furumoto, Ms. Valentyna Zolotarova, Mr. Douglas Smerek, Mr. Trevor Walmsley and Mr. Zvonko Celebija. We sincerely congratulate our athletes for their selection, and wish our entire delegation the very best of luck in Rio!
