UPDATED 2020-2021 SENIOR NATIONAL TEAM CRITERIA & KC RANKING POINTS EXTENSION

January 21, 2021

Karate Canada has revised and updated its 2020-2021 Senior National Team Criteria, in light of important and recent changes to the events calendar and circumstances caused by the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. Several changes have been made in various parts of the document, including revisions to Section II so as to reflect and align with recent changes to the calendar of domestic and international targeted events. You may click here to review this important document.

Please note: in light of Karate Canada having had to cancel its planned March 27-28 2021 Senior & U21 Team Trials event (in Calgary AB – see other News item today), Karate Canada has also further extended its Senior National Team ranking points so as to ensure that athletes enter the next domestic competition (the 2021 National Championships, scheduled for July 2-4 in St-John’s, NL) with ranking points equivalent to 50% of what they had leading into the (cancelled) March 2020 Senior National Championships. This is reflected in Section 5.1 of the revised 2020-2021 Senior National Team Criteria. (Updated KC ranking point tables will be available soon.)
