Junior National Team Athletes Ready for 2017 Junior World Championships

Members of the Canadian Junior National Team Roster members selected to compete in the 2017 WKF Cadet, Junior, and U21 Championships will be arriving this weekend in Tenerife, Canary Islands, for this prestigious event. The competition will take place from October 25th-29th, bringing together over 1700 athletes from 109 different countries. Karate Canada will be represented by a total of 25 athletes. The team will be supported by Junior National Kumite Head Coach Mr. Denis Beaudoin, National Kata Coach Katarina Vadovicova, National Team Assistant Coach Pam Ross, and National Team Assistant Coach Gary Sabean, as well as medical support staff member Ms. Clare Richard, Executive Director and Team Manager Mr. Olivier Pineau, and Karate Canada President Mr. Craig Vokey. The Canadian delegation will also include five officials: Mrs. Yoshie Furumoto, Mr. David Griffin, Mr. Yogen Mungroosing, Mr. Yaro Tarana et Mr. Trevor Walmsley. This event constitutes a very important step for our karateka on the road to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. Good luck to all of our competitors and coaches!
