POSTPONEMENT OF 2021 SENIOR NATIONAL TEAM TRIALS
Dear Friends in Karate,
Given the recently declared state of health emergency in the Province of Alberta and the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases in that province, Karate Canada has had to make the difficult decision to postpone the holding of its 2021 Senior National Team Trials, which were originally to be held in Calgary, Alberta, on September 25-26, 2021. The new dates and other information pertaining to the postponed event will be determined in the near future, and will be published and communicated with our community as soon as possible, along with further updates about the team selection process for upcoming international competitions.
The health and safety of our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, spectators, and the broader community remains our top priority, and we believe this decision is in the best interest of all stakeholders as the situation in Alberta continues to change at a fast pace.
Karate Canada would like to sincerely thank its various partners and host Provincial Association Karate Alberta for all of the work that has gone into preparing for this event, and for being excellent partners throughout this process. We look forward to working with this organizing committee again the near future.
We thank everyone sincerely for their patience and understanding.
